Two cantatas from Bach's second year as Cantor of St Thomas's Church in Leipzig come from his cycle of chorale cantatas, the backbone of his output during the period after Trinity Sunday in 1724. Both are notable for their complex opening movements, in the case of BWV 115 built on a passacaglia. The Musicians' Company's traditional Bach cantata concert features outstanding soloists and instrumentalists from the Royal College of Music.
